Short Poem: Little One, Little One

Little one, little one,
why do you weep?
Little one, little one,
go back to sleep.

Little one, little one,
why do you groan?
Little one, little one,
how you have grown.

Bigger one, bigger one,
still do you cry?
Bigger one, bigger one,
hounded by lies.

Dying one, dying one,
why do you weep?
Dying one, dying one,
soon you will sleep.

Living one, living one,
gather your tears.
Living one, living one,
count out the years.

Living one, living one,
let out your sighs.
Living one, living one,
grow to your size.

Everyone, everyone,
who sings this song,
everyone, everyone,
it won’t be long.
