Poem: Nameless Song

A bit of a throwaway day. I’m too tired. Please enjoy this offering.

I heard a nameless song,
and hummed a wordless tune.
I slept without a dream,
and lived without a goal.
In all my ways I’ve walked without a path;
in all my days I’ve run in mindless wrath.

Yet sinking now, I long to dream,
and singing now, I pray to God.

My end is coming soon;
my days are written down.

All vanity,
but scribble on.

I’ll sing
my song.
