Poem: Call of the Damned

I heard a sound in the moonlit night,
the cry of the damned calling through the night.
I rose to find this uncommon shriek,
to learn what had caused this ungodly shriek.

And in this fog I’ve searched so long
there’s me and this, my broken song.

I felt the howl of a moonless black,
the summoning damned crying from the black.
Fallen into this unfathomed pit,
I search for some light in this darkened pit.

Here lost in fog, unending haze,
I ceaseless wander through a maze.

Heaven cannot be lost to me?
Only some way, I beg of thee,
Prepared to lead me out of gloom;
Expel me from this horrid doom.
