Poem: Remember the Monster

Righteous in our saccharin tales,
Elevated by the wine,
Men are known to forsake truth.
Encouraged so, they oft malign
Matters of their fathers’ youth.
Broken then, the ancient seal,
Ends their pater’s hard bought deal.
Return they all out of their jails.

They are coming to devour
Hungering for those in power
Eating men in field or tower

Memories of the lost,
Once loved, but nevermore,
Now listless in the night
Stalk in shadowed moor.
Terrors, and ungodly,
Evading common sight,
Repay a dreadful cost.
