And in a Dream

DR. AGONSON

And in a dream I passing knew
what prompt waking forgot,
but lost returned, buried it grew.
Slow time unveiled the thought.

The wall of dream is paper thin,
at least for those like me,
and whether virtue—whether sin—
into my dreams I flee.
