BY DR. AGONSON
I once sought from you, Life, a purpose.
I had dreamed that there might be reason.
What I find in this world is madness.
I can’t see within you a meaning.
I despair and my heart is aching.
I collapse for my knees are broken.
Yet I gaze to the sky above me,
and I pray to the God who made all.
So we rise with the cross we carry,
and I stand with the weight of living.
I must go to the death before me,
and pass through that dark veil into rest.
